The first step to the cloud, for most organizations, is backup. They use the cloud as either the primary or secondary backup target, essentially leverage cloud storage as a giant data dumping ground. But this use case totally ignores something that cloud providers are better at delivering – cloud compute. Join Storage Switzerland and Zerto as we discuss the best next step for hybrid cloud. Leveraging the cloud as a next generation disaster recovery site.
Replication is the key ingredient of a hybrid cloud disaster recovery strategy. If the replication is software-based, then the organization is able to use the same software for all of its storage hardware. It also activates hybrid cloud capabilities, enabling the organization to replicate data on-premises to their own secondary location, to a managed service provider or to a public cloud provider. That capability allows the organization to move applications to different clouds based on availability or based on best fit for the application.
