Can the Cloud Save IT From the Secondary Storage Deluge?

Watch On Demand

Primary storage is no longer the most expensive tier of storage. Secondary storage, storage that stores copies, backups and archives, is now far more expensive than primary storage. The growth of this tier threatens to bury the data center under a data deluge.

The capacity of secondary storage is 5X to 10X the size of primary storage and is consuming significant portions of the data center. Secondary storage is also the most difficult to manage because of the variety of storage systems involved, ranging from high capacity NAS, to object storage, to tape libraries.

IT is looking to the cloud in desperation. But, can the cloud really save the day or will it too fall short against the secondary storage data deluge?

Join Storage Switzerland and Iron Mountain for our on demand webinar, “3 Steps to Controlling the Secondary Storage Deluge”. In this webinar we discuss the challenges secondary storage creates, how the cloud might help and where it might fall short. Then, we’ll examine how the cloud, combined with the right services, can help organizations control the secondary storage data deluge.
