Webinar – The Challenges With Server-Side SSD Caching in VMware Environments

VMware creates a storage performance challenge for almost any data center that has implemented virtualization. No matter the size of the environment, the fundamental issue is dealing with highly randomized storage I/O. The theoretical quick fix has been to embrace server-side caching, which sounds simple enough; buy the SSD, install caching software, reboot and watch your virtual environment fly. Server-side caching, however, introduces its own set of problems. Three of the biggest issues are how those solutions deal with VM migrations, how they respond to an SSD failure, and how administrators can avoid “cache sprawl”.

In this webinar George Crump, Lead Analyst at Storage Switzerland and Peter Smith Director of Product Management at Infinio discuss server-side caching, its challenges, and how to overcome them.
