Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solutions start innocently enough. The organization starts with two or three nodes and initially it handles all their compute, and storage needs quite well. As the environment scales because of the growth of the initial workloads or the addition of new workloads, the HCI environment becomes increasingly costly and complicated. The addition of each additional node means IT needs to find physical space for the node, establish connections to the network infrastructure and rebalance workloads and data to the new node.
Reducing the cost of scaling HCI environments is the subject of Storage Switzerland’s latest white paper “How to Reduce the Cost of Hyperconverged Infrastructure.” In this paper we discuss how selecting the right HCI hardware and software can dramatically reduce the need to add nodes while supporting a greater workload variety. The paper is available for attendees to our recent webinar “How to Put an End to Hyperconverged Silos.” Register to watch the webinar and the paper is immediately available as an attachment.
