How to Modernize the Data Protection Architecture

Modernization of various components and processes within the data center is a popular topic with IT professionals. One area of concentration is the data protection architecture. Advances in both software and hardware promise to dramatically reduce recovery times while at the same time reducing the cost of the architecture. The problem is that most attempts to modernize data protection require throwing out investments made in software and hardware and having the organization re-lock itself in with a single software/hardware vendor. Modernization should not require dedication to a single vendor for all hardware and software services. Instead IT planners should look for more flexible approaches that bring “best-of-breed” solutions together so IT can meet the organization’s expectations.

In our latest white paper “A 4-Tier Approach to Modern Data Protection” Storage Switzerland details why the data protection architecture needs to modernize, what the options for modernization are and how to select the best modernization strategy for the enterprise.
