At the top of most IT project whiteboards is “cloud”. Whether cloud compute or cloud storage, organizations are trying to figuring out how to move their applications or data to these no CapEx environments. One of the most popular is the Google Compute Platform. While data movement is relatively straightforward application movement is not. One can not simply copy a VMware VM to a cloud provider and expect the virtual machine to boot. The virtual machine needs to be transformed or have additional drivers injected in order to run in those environments. In this ChalkTalk video StorageSwiss and Sureline Systems discuss how to make a migration to the Google Compute Platform and what some of the use cases might be.
